No Mystery

No Mystery

Last week I shared a picture of a shawl I was racing to finish, and today it dawned on me that I never showed the finished product!  I finished it early Thursday evening, right on schedule, it is prettier in person, and light as a feather in lace-weight mink.

So I turned my attention to another shawl, a mystery pattern called Follow Your Arrow.  The pattern is worked in 5 sections, each with a pattern choice of A or B, they all work together, so there are over 30 combinations possible.  It was a lot of fun to knit, but an exercise in patients!  The pattern was released in snippets over 5 weeks.  The first couple of weeks knitting created shapes that didn’t seem to work together and I really began to wonder what shape the shawl was even going to be.  This is how it ended up, asymmetrical! (Knitted in Classic Elite Vail, an undyed alpaca and bamboo blend.)

This was my first ever ‘Mystery’ knit-a-long, which is funny because I host one here on the blog every month!  And I have a new appreciation for all the knitters who hang in, even when it is not readily apparent what they are knitting.  So, thanks to my wonderful friend and designer Betty, I am pleased to offer a bonus dishcloth pattern this month.  And there is no mystery or patients required, Enjoy!
