Island Time, Again

Island Time, Again

So, even though I said, just a few days ago that I wasn’t going to distress the island, well I couldn’t help myself, as usual.

Here it is painted solid, I just think it looks a little flat.

So I dry brushed the whole thing with Annie Sloan Old White and waxed it with the soft clear wax.

I think I’m really going to enjoy it, it’s a bright spot.

And the shelf works great without the wine rack.  Fits the KitchenAid and the SodaStream as well as a big basket that I can fill with onions and potatoes.P1020812

I still need to find the new handles and top, but it’s getting there!

Slipcovering starts tomorrow, I’m excited, wish me luck!
