Hey everyone, It’s Caroline, back with a new jewelry idea that is simple and fun to make. Fall is here, which means we get to throw on jackets, sweatshirts and sweaters, to stay warm and cozy. Layering is super trendy this season, and the easiest way to get in on this look is with lots of layered bracelets. I’ve made lots of different bracelets that look cool together, and can even be worn with vintage bracelets, for an interesting look.
Today I will be showing you how to make a bracelet out of a zipper. You will need, scissors, pliers, jump ring, lobster claw clasp, 9in zipper, end crimp, and a lighter.
Begin by trimming the fabric off the edges of the zipper.
Run a lighter along the edges of the zipper to prevent fraying.
Measure and cut your zipper to the size of your arm.
Add your crimp clasp to the end of your bracelet. Then add-on your jump ring and clasp with a pair of pliers, this is the order of the final bracelet.
And that’s it! I paired mine with 2 other bracelets I made and a silver bracelet that belonged to my Great-Grandmother. I think it would also be really cute to wear with some more colorful zipper bracelets. It would also be neat to cut the zipper out of an old pair of jeans and use that!
