When I put it in place Mr.Fix-it said, “Wow, it really matches the light fixture in here!”
I should hope so, since that fixture was the inspiration for the rug! I designed such a simple, classic kitchen and was really undecided about the lighting. We had a large flourescent box fixture that I hated, it was like staring into the sun, it was so harsh. I looked and looked for some kind of classic farmhouse fixture, but nothing worked. On one of our MANY trips to Lowes, Mr.Fix-it and I cut through the lighting department on the way back to the lumber and he saw this quirky stained glass fixture hanging. He loved it immediately, it took me about 5 min to love it too. It is not at all serious, and it is just perfect in our new kitchen.
So when trying to come up with a color scheme to hook the chevron burlap, I worked off the colors in the glass. I think it worked! Although I couldn’t resist adding a touch of orange, just on one side.
Do you want to see the back? I know I always do!
To finish the edges, I turned, pressed and whipped them into place.
Mitered the corners and added a tag, although “A Treasure Forever” is probably pushing it!
hoarding, selecting yarns for the next one! I’m thinking it will have fish, and maybe it won’t take quite as long to finish!!
