Crafting with Caroline- Keeping up with your Keys

Hey y’all thanks for all the comments last week, keep them coming!

This week I have a very useful project that is very easy.  This would definitely be a beginner craft because you need absolutely no special tools and I picked up everything at my local Hobby Lobby, (my favorite store btw), except for the hardware.  That you can get online or at specialty sewing shops.  This is also a great gift!   This is a project you can use in your everyday life, every time you pick up your keys.  Can you guess what it is yet?P1010504

Yep, it’s a key fob!  I’ve made them for my Mom, Dad, Nana, my friend Kris, and me to carry our keys.  All you need is cotton webbing, the key fob hardware, and ribbon.

First cut a ten inch piece of webbing and a ten inch piece of ribbon.  Then sew a straight line on each side attaching the webbing and ribbon.  note~you can use heat~n~bond to fuse them together to make this step sooo much easier!

Next fold  the webbing in half and using pliers, secure your key fob hardware on the ribbon and attach key ring.  note~ as you can see i put duct tape on my pliers so that the ridges on them do not scratch my hardware. ((special thanks to my wonderful, strong dad for helping me clamp them down nice and tight)) P1010500

Ta-da!!
