Christmas in the Sunroom and a Concert

Christmas in the Sunroom and a Concert

First things first, I promised a look at my winnings from Saturday’s Luncheon.  I, with the help of my darling daughter, ripped this gorgeous wreath from the hands of a dear friend, (who I know would still love me), during our ‘Yankee Trader’ game.  It was made by my dear friend Kris, who knocked off a design from Anthropologie. I personally think this one is much lovelier than theirs, simply because of her yarn choices and the beautiful jingle bells.

I’ve displayed it on a large mirror in the sunroom, with some other treasures, new and old.

The German style nativity windmill was handmade by my Uncle Bob, it is amazing in its detail, and turns smoothly when surrounded by candles.

This old photo of the ‘naughty’ child and the ‘nice’ child is especially funny if you know my kids, I put it out every year and it always makes me laugh.  The little needle felted reindeer was a gift to my son from Kris.  She is such a talented, well everything, but especially needle felter.

And the Faith sign, was hand-painted by my gorgeous friend Trina.  I ‘won’ it in an ornament swap with my bible study group last night.  I think I’ll leave it up year round.

The sunroom is finished off with some Christmas-y pillows on the sofa, a tray of sparkley ornaments on the table and some flowering Christmas Cactus and poinsettia.  Simple and sweet, this is our favorite family hang out.

I hope to put the finishing touches on the rest of the house tomorrow!

Tonight we attended my daughters Middle School Christmas Concert, she plays the flute, (just like her mom).

The concert showcased 3 bands, 6th, 7th and 8th grade, (Caroline is in the 8th grade), as well as the school chorus.  It was a very festive concert, if a tad long………. just take it from my seat mate.

Waiting until the bitter end for your sister’s turn to perform is pretty tough, even if you do get to hear renditions of Star Wars and Eye of the Tiger!

Caroline, who attended Saturdays festivities at the shop, ‘won’ these adorable painted light-bulb ornaments made by our wonderful friend Tracy.  I don’t know who was more tickled she got them, Caroline or Tracy!

Until tomorrow, I hope you are enjoying the season as much as we are!
