A Shot in the Arm

A Shot in the Arm

14 days until Christmas!  Today I took a break from all the Elf-ly duties and had a ‘physical’ health day!  This morning I had my third, (in a series of 6), vitamin infusion.  This treatment was prescribed to combat the incredible fatigue and malaise I’ve been experiencing for the last several months.  It is working like an absolute miracle, I’m filled with so much more energy!  I’ve been running everyday, and I haven’t taken/needed at nap in well over a week.  I come from a long line of nappers, my mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, all excellent nappers.  Especially in my grandmothers day, napping was a daily treat, but now?  I remember Gran telling me how she’d lie down every afternoon to rest, then freshen up her hair and lipstick before my Grandpa got home from work.  Isn’t that a lovely thought?  My napping has been more like a crash into a coma-like state that I’ve been powerless to shake off.  Let’s just say I wasn’t exactly a ray of sunshine when Mr. Fix-it got home from work.  But hopefully that is a thing of the past!

Afterward I took myself out to lunch, did a little shopping, then had a natural facial.  Which seems very indulgent, and something I rarely take the time to do.  I’m a fairly low maintenance girl, but I must say, it is nice to be pampered occasionally!

There is still much to do, a busy two weeks ahead, ready or not, Christmas time’s a coming!  Remember to take care of yourself this busy time of year, I’m talking to myself too!

Glad to hear that the transfusions are doing the trick. You do know that we were all worried about you. I remember Mummy would a not take a nap but would relax with a cup of tea before fixing her hair and makeup for Daddy coming home from work. Now that you are feeling better try not to overdo it. I know that at this time of the year that is hard advice to take but we want you to stay healthy.
