A Rough Job

A Rough Job

You won’t ever hear me say I’ve had a bad day at work.  Owning a yarn shop, how bad can it be?  Without a doubt, our customers are what make the shop amazing.  Lots of comfy chairs filled with knitters of every age and demographic.  It is NEVER boring, and usually a whole lot of fun.

Besides interacting with the customers, and stocking shelves, my favorite task has to be the buying.  I’ve always loved buying, even long ago when we were a clothing boutique, (which was considerably more stressful).   Yarn buying is nothing but pure FUN.  I thought maybe you’d like to share a little taste of what just one salesman showed today.

Neatly organized color cards and swatches from Classic Elite Yarns.

Knit 1 Crochet Too, lots of bright swatches!

Jade Sapphire Cashmeres, umm………, yes please!

A suitcase stuffed with Mountain Colors, and Mr.Fix-it thinks I travel with a lot of yarn. 😉

Dunn Roving, every yarn comes in every color.  There are only a couple hundred to choose from!

And Artyarns.  Sparkles, Beads and Sequins, Oh My!

It’s a rough job, but somebody’s gotta do it!

(Lots of the yarns above will be in stock at The Quarter Stitch very soon!)

WOW, I had no idea that you were the owner of your own yarn shop. How lucky can a girl be. I came across your site and have made all your recipes, really good. Tonight, I checked my emails, saw that I had a new message from you and hoped you had a new recipe. Imagine my surprise when I saw all of the beautiful yarn. I have been a knitter since I was twelve years old. That’s a long time as I am now a “senior citizen”. Thanks for sharing and now, I can try new “recipes” for knitting as well as cooking.

I enjoyed visiting your shop in September when I was visiting my mother in law. I can’t wait to come visit her again and come visit your store again! 🙂
