1Year Old!

1Year Old!

Work-in-progress Wednesday has quickly become one of my favorite blog topics!  It is always fun to show you what I’m working on, with the hope that you will be inspired in some way to progress with your own projects!  However today, I want to share a work that I’ve had in process for 1 year ……….. thedomesticdash.com!

Suelta de globos

How quickly a year slips by!  I love reading blogs, and have several I’ve followed for years.   And I found myself thinking, I do a lot of stuff, maybe I should write a blog?  But I didn’t for a long time.  Who’d care what I have to say?  What could I add to the endless amount of information on the web?  Who’d even read it?  But, deep inside a small voice whispered  maybe I should.  And now it’s been a year!

I started with a clear goal, to demonstrate, and maybe inspire, women  to find JOY, in the everyday of home life!  And that goal is even more important to me today.  There is such value in homemaking!  So much fun to be had!  So much creativity that can be unleashed!  There are certainly aspects that are not so great, mopping comes immediately to mind, but a sparkling clean kitchen floor, there is JOY there!  Reworking an old something into ‘new’ and ‘functional’, JOY!  Growing flowers and food, even in a tiny garden, JOY!   Using 2 sticks and some string to create blankets, clothing and even humble dishcloths?  JOY!

Life is tough!  We are all faced with challenges daily, so it is my hope, my goal, in some small way to encourage all readers of this humble little blog to find some JOY in this life.  You don’t have to go somewhere else to find it, you need not spend a bunch trying to buy it, find it in your H.O.M.E!  And watch it spill over onto everyone around you!

Thank you each and every one who follow along with me as I find my Joy, all of you who’ve been here from the begining, and the ones who are continuing to sign up everyday!

You are all treasures to me,

Claire

Happy Birthday. Thank you for taking your time to create thedomesticdash.com I for one enjoy it and I am sure that I am not alone. You have inspired me to get busy with the knitting needles and to finally attack a few projects that have been on the back burner for some time. Have a great day.

God bless you, Claire! I loved your post today as always, but today, I met myself
in you. I, too, am a huge DIYer and recycler. I am sooo reluctant to throw anything away. Friends and family say “what an imagination” when they see yet another spray painted “something” I’ve turned into a decorative item.
Yes, there is great JOY in this. In fact, I’m just joyful every day because I will be 88 in August and feel 67. And yes, I know how blessed I am that I am very energetic and able to do these things. I, also, think that ATTITUDE is everything. There is no room for self pity in my life no matter how rough the waters get sometime. God is good to me and apparently my work here is not finished. Thank you for all you do so graciously. I send much love to you and your family…hugs all around. “See you around the corner”…Dixie
